WHO I AM

My parents say that I started singing before I was able to talk, and as a little kid, I would make up my own little melodies in the backseat of the car on every family trip. When my kindergarten teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I very confidently told her that I wanted to be a singer. Ever since I can remember, music has been a defining part of who I am.

My love for country music runs deep, as I grew up on Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks, LeAnn Rimes, Bonnie Raitt and Alison Krauss. Celine Dion was always playing in my house as a child, which resulted in my appreciation for soaring melodies and dramatic vocals. As I got a bit older, I fell in love with songwriters like Sara Bareilles and John Mayer, and all of these influences can be heard in my writing.

In 2011, I moved to Nashville to pursue a degree in commercial music at Belmont University. Since graduating, I have been fortunate enough to write with some incredible artists and songwriters on Music Row, while continuing to perform and record professionally in Nashville.
